In Jefferson County Colorado, you may have more options for schools than you realize!
Finding the right school for your child is one of the biggest decisions you'll make when moving to a new area. One of the great benefits of living in Jefferson County is that families have options beyond their neighborhood school.
Jeffco Public Schools uses the School Choice system, allowing families to attend their assigned neighborhood school or apply to another school that may be a better fit for their child's interests and learning style.

Based on your home address, every student is assigned a neighborhood school (find that here). You can enroll in that school, or....
Jeffco allows families to apply to schools outside of their zoned neighborhood school through the school choice process.
Families can choose a different school for any reason, but some of these reasons may include:
STEM programs
Arts and Performing Arts
International Baccalaureate (IB)
Dual Language programs
Montessori education
Outdoor education
College prep
Career & Technical Education
Athletics and extracurricular opportunities
Admission to choice schools depends on available space and district enrollment procedures.
If more students apply than there are available seats, schools use a lottery process to fill openings.
Some schools or programs may have additional admission requirements or informational meetings, so it's always a good idea to review each school's enrollment information early. What to Expect, and When
